It's now been a full 24 hour since this crash was first reported and authorities still

are not releasing the names of these five people who were killed after they drove off

that cliff in Mendocino County.

I spoke with California Highway Patrol.

These are their pictures.

They tell me a 2003 GMC SUV was driving south on Highway 1 yesterday.

It pulled into a dirt turnout and then for reasons they still don't know, it drove directly

off this cliff.

It plunged about 100 feet down onto the rocks of the ocean below.

You can see from this picture the vehicle landed on its roof.

This fall killed all five people and the three children on board were ejected.

I talked to a woman who owns a house right by where this happened.

She said she wasn't there at the time, but she thought the crash is strange because

the turnoff is so large you can see that in these pictures from Google Street View.
