Today we're dealing with the second part of the epic tale of the German battleship Turpitz,

which was finally sunk by RAF bombers on the 12th of November 94, 80 years ago.

Patrick covered all this in his excellent book, Target Turpitz, Xcraft, Agents and Dam Busters,

the epic quest to destroy Hitler's mightiest warship. Patrick, where we left it last time was Operation Source, that extraordinary attempt by Midget submarines to sink the

turpits. And they came very close to doing that, didn't they? That was in the autumn of

1940 through. We've got about another year of the story to go. What do the British decide to do next?
