Hey everybody, happy New Year. Welcome back to the full cup. I'm Libby Switzer, your host,

0:09.2

sitting here today with my dad, Craig Berthold. And today we are going to be talking a little bit

0:15.8

about repentance. This is more of like a faith-based recording than, well, I mean, I guess all of our sessions

0:26.1

are pretty faith-based. But anyway, here we go. One of the reasons I wanted to address this topic

0:33.8

is because I just feel like, for me personally, I remember as a kid trying to repent

0:42.1

from something and just feeling like I haven't felt bad enough or I haven't cried hard enough

0:49.7

or had enough guilt or whatever it may be or maybe I was repenting from something I knew I was

0:57.9

going to do again. And so then I would just think, well, I'm not going to repent because I'm going

1:37.8

which just meant to turn from or to have a change of heart. I remember. And that's not as easy as it sounds.

1:45.6

But honestly, it sounds a lot easier than like asking for forgiveness,

1:51.5

mourning and feeling bad, talking to your bishop, like the four steps or whatever,

1:59.2

which I know are important still. But when you can say like, no, it means

2:04.4

to turn from, have a change of heart, want to do something different, that fills a lot more

2:10.2

loving, like a loving commandment instead of you better not, you know, shaking your finger at a person.

2:17.1

I'd like you to go a little bit longer with that.

2:19.2

Not only Shub, which is turned from, that was in Hebrew. And then from Hebrew was changed to the Greek.

2:26.5

And in the Greek, the word came out with meta neo-eo. Meta means change. Neo-eo means your mind, your heart, your spirit. So you change your heart,
