And that's like basically like what their attitude was. It was like, you shouldn't be allowed to do this, but for some reason you are. And, you know, you would be

arrested if this was like rush or whatever. So it was just very weird. A couple people came up to me

and actually pretended like it was good what I did. Because I think that they want, they, they they they didn't know how to react so like a

couple people were just like thank you so much for that question like it's really important that

we talk about this and like it's really good that the Navy is really transparent about this like

really trying to like or boost the narrative that they're like environmental stewards and it's like

really great that I'm reporting on this and like they want to be like really they want to be really honest about how they're working

with the environment now right and how this is actually really good and then actually one guy that

was really interesting he was like a marine commander or something he came up to me afterward and he was

like hey sorry I got really heated.

He was like, my wife is, you know, works with environmental policy. And he was like, I just want you to

know that, you know, Russia and China don't care about this stuff. He was like, they don't care

about the environment and they don't care about human rights. And I was just like, oh, I was like

very taken aback. This is like totally off like when the cameras were not on anymore.

And he was just like, yeah, he's like, so, you know, we really care about this stuff.

And he was like, but if you just compare what we do to like Russia, he's like, look at the war in Ukraine.

He was like, that's really bad for the environment. It's like, what the fuck?

It was just really strange. It was like they didn't know how to handle it, you know? So then we get this tour on the ship and it was just surreal to see the amphibious land assault weaponry and systems.
