This episode, Aly tells the horrifying tales of the two rarest, most little-known cryptids on the internet: The Black Carpet and The Black (or Phantom) Diver. During the Cold War, the United States Navy began constructing an elaborate underwater grid of listening devices, called hydrophones, throughout the ocean floor. When the grid was later given to oceanographers to use in environmental research, a strange, unexplained noise would be picked up on two hydrophones 3,000 miles apart.
