Hello world and welcome to episode 40 of the Pink Bike podcast. Today, we're talking about

everybody's favorite happy subject that definitely doesn't stir up any controversy or

arguments whatsoever in the comment section. That's right. It's the annual

Pink Bike Awards and Kazimer, I swear I just heard you groan. You didn't make the sound, but I

heard it in my head. That's how connected we are. Telepathic connection over the awards.

It happens sometimes. Right. I'm Mike Levy, your host, as usually I'm here with James from the UK, Brian Park,

and of course, Mike Kassimer, who you just heard. Brian Park, can you tell us what the Pink Bike Awards are

and why we do them, just in general.

A Pink Bike Award is a highlight of the best products and things that have happened in the last year.

We do Mountain Bike of the Year, some value stuff, value Mountain Bike, value component.

A suspension product of the year is a big one, component, a bunch of and then of course also the achievement awards so performance of the year comeback of the year event of the year that

type of thing and yeah it's been a weird year in mountain biking but it's been a great one so

when did you guys first launch the pink bike awards they were here when i when i started

1973 it feels like Casimir. I think it might be around 2013. We used to kind of do

editors' choice awards before that, but I think 2013 might be the first official year where we

put it under one umbrella. So the hard thing with that is we've all got our own personal

favorites and things,

and we wrote some of those articles this year. But this is something where we all come together

and argue a lot to determine what the, what products really owned the tightgeist of whatever

the year is.
