Psalm chapter 56 verses 3 and 4.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you and God whose word I praise and God I trust I

shall not be afraid what can flesh do to me? Those are two great verses and they're

actually repeated later on in the same Psalm in Psalm 56 versus 10 and 11. So get the context here.

David is being pursued by his enemies and he's afraid he's clearly afraid from the very beginning

verse one be gracious to me oh god for man tramples on me all day long an attacker oppresses me.

First two, my enemies trample on me all day long.

Many are attacking me proudly, so he's under attack.

And he's afraid.

He says, when I am afraid afraid that's how verse three starts.

Then he says I put my trust in you even just that verse. So what do you do when you're afraid?

Put your trust in God.

This is what Psalm 56-3 is saying.

And then listen to verse 4,

in God whose word I praise, what a picture praising the word of God, because it's the rock to stand on.

When attacks are coming at you in the world, you can stand on his word, praise God for his word, praise

his word in God whose word I praise and God I trust. And then listen to what he says. He says,

I shall not be afraid. Like in verse three he said when I'm

afraid now in verse four he's saying I shall not be afraid. Well how do you go from

being afraid to not being afraid?
