0:00.0	Hello there. I'm Tyler Griffin and this is Scripture Study Insights by Scripture Central.
0:07.0	Today, Heelman, chapters 13 through 16. And this section of chapters contains one of my
0:15.1	favorite scripture characters, Samuel Lamanite. And it's so ironic because we were this close to not getting
0:25.0	his record. We find out in 3rd Nephi 23 when the Lord has a conversation with Nephi that
0:34.2	Nephi had not included Samuel's prophecies
0:38.3	in his plates that he was passing on
0:41.5	through that prophetic line.
0:44.2	And at the Lord's direction,
0:46.8	Samuel's prophecies were then included.
0:49.8	Interestingly, the one prophecy that the Savior mentions to Nephi is the fact that at his
0:57.2	resurrection, many graves would be opened and many people who had passed on would be resurrected
1:06.5	and seen of many. That was the one verse that got specific mention. It happens to be chapter
1:13.8	14, verse 25. So if you want to go and circle verse 25 and make it kind of stand out. So here
1:22.6	we now have Samuel's story. So one of the things we want to do is figure out how to take his
1:31.6	story and liken it unto us so that it can become more fully our story or your story, however
1:43.5	you want to word this. So there are principles, there are
1:51.0	things that he experiences that are going to be very different historically and in the
1:58.2	context where he lives his life, very different from our life setting.
2:03.7	But there are other principles and other experiences that are easier to directly apply to
2:12.3	our life circumstances and the situations we're passing through. In fact, you'll notice there's a
2:19.6	scriptural pattern that keeps emerging, keeps repeating to one degree or another. None of them
2:27.6	is perfect. This pattern doesn't completely or perfectly describe any one individual's experience or their life.
