All right, welcome back to making the argument.

If you are someone that has been interested in our discussions about intentional communities,

if you've been interested in things like homesteading, if you've been interested in things like

entrepreneurship, if you're interested in what is happening in the American economy is we feel

like we're more and more constrained either by government or even by

private entities that seem to want to influence the way that business is done. And there was a quote

once from James Lindsay, who I respect as a great thinker. I think he's done a lot of really good

work on talking about some of the issues that have been happening in higher education right now. But he made this comment a while back, and I actually

responded to him privately on it because I respect James. But he said that this whole homesteader

movement is a bunch of anti-growth larpers, right? And for those of you that don't know what a

larper is, it's live action role

play. Basically he says, you're faking it, you're pretending. And so today, we have a very special

guest. We have Ben Spell, the founder and CEO of Good Ranchers. And the reason why I wanted to

bring him on and talk to him about this issue is not obviously because we've had a great

relationship with good ranchers

and we really like their product and their business model, but because the comment I made back to

James was, James, I don't think, I'm sure you've run into some people that are kind of out there,

kind of crazies, and maybe they are, just total anti-growth people. But when we really talk about

intentional community,

we're not just talking about, you know,

you and 12 of your best friends going off into the middle of nowhere,

setting up a compound, and never engaging with the rest of the world.
