If there are technical issues, if I do not sound crystal clear, at times we are still reeling from a lack of reliable internet service in the wake

of Helene and that's where I want to start is the devastation of Helene continues to unfold.

Daylight and access are showing the full scale of the destruction. It used to be in the wake of such natural

disasters. What we would see was neighbors helping neighbors, strangers helping

strangers. Because when you're without power and water and housing and access to information,

when trees have turned your family home into rubble, nothing else really matters.

The world stops until you have just the basics of life.

The death toll will rise.

It's already been over a week since Helene struck

and the communities are still devastated and families have had their lives

change forever. People are still struggling to access basic necessities, food and water and power.

I mean, I consider the internet to be a luxury.
