I'm good, Lisa. How are you? I'm so good. We were just laughing about the fact that Kia is also a podcaster. Now she's an author. And sitting on both

sides of this microphone, it's a whole thing, isn't it? A whole thing. Well, the technology

alone, Lisa, is like, is it going to work today? Are my AirPods in? One never knows. The thing is,

is I am marginally techy enough to get by, enough to be

slightly scary, or could push the wrong button. But anyway, I'm glad you're here. How do you feel

about being a first time author? Like, was this always a dream or is this just something that it evolved in your

relationship with the Lord? It's been a dream for at least 20 plus years. Wow. Oh, yeah. I wanted to do it.

I knew I wanted to do it when I was in high school. I had a book idea. It was called The Void. This is now the book, Overcoming Father Wounds is, it was the void. It started off as the void. And I worked on that little book baby all through college. Then I got married. I was still working on it. I discovered she speaks. And I just knew that I'm going to go to She Speaks. I'm going to take this little book baby with me.

I'm going to be discovered. I'm going to get an agent just like that because that is how it works in my

brain. Yeah. And I had that little book baby. I was teaching at the time on an external hard drive.

That was the only place where I kept it. And I can still see it in

my head. Lisa, I was moving from my teacher desk to an elementary school desk to have a meeting

with the superior. And that little external hard drive slid right on out of my computer and fell onto the

floor. And I knew in that moment it was different from all the previous times where that external art drive had fallen on the floor.

And I lost everything.

I had 60 pages.

By that time, I knew I was writing about father wounds.

I had all this research, all of these shows that I had transcribed myself, not gotten some work that someone else that died and just was depressed. This book has

been with me for a while, 20 plus years, and I've known for some time that God had impressed upon

my heart to talk about this issue of father wounds. Wow. Okay, first of all, are you telling me that this book, you had this book in high school in your heart? That's what you're telling me.

It's the sovereignty of God that he gave me more. I had maybe a skeletal outline or I had bits and pieces. I knew in high school that there was a neediness in me.
