In our study, we found that the average woman used about 19 products every day, and the average man used about seven.

These products might come at a cost. The ingredients they contain can be harmful to our health.

more than 690 people were killed by Friday's earthquake in the center of the country, and those

numbers are expected to climb. Casualties were also reported

in neighboring Thailand. The U.S. Geological Survey put the quake's magnitude at 7.7 with a

powerful 6.7 aftershocks several minutes later. Michael Sullivan reports from Changre, Thailand.

Mandalay is just 10 miles from the quake's epicenter, and is home to roughly 1.5 million people, and it's there that

the number of casualties is expected to rise dramatically. Modeling by the USGS estimates the

death toll will likely surpass 10,000, with a strong possibility it could go much higher.

everywhere and rescue efforts hampered workers say by a lack of manpower and machines to remove the

debris. The leader of Myanmar's military junta invited foreign help, something the military has

refused in the past. It's not clear how foreign aid could arrive quickly enough to

help the rescue effort with the airport in Mandalay now closed. For NPR news, I'm Michael Sullivan

island would be better off if it were part of the U.S. He made his comments during a visit to a U.S.
