Hi, and welcome to the Five Word Prayers Daily, a five-day-a-week daily devotional where we share

the word, prayers, and our heart. I'm Lisa Whittle, and I welcome you to just five minutes with me which i trust and pray will be five minutes well spent it's friday and the fun friday five five

five random things usually some kind of list to break it up from the week of inspiration we're used to doing around here you guys love the friday 5, by the way, so that's why I keep doing

them. Did you know there's some of our highest ranking shows? Yep, true story. This week, as we wrap up

our church questions week, we're going to take a look at five reasons church might not be working for you

right now. I thought it might be helpful to drill down on some of the roadblocks or potential reasons as to why you aren't getting

plugged in or feeling apart and maybe that will help kickstart some change. Sound good? Let's do it.

So five reasons church might not be working for you right now. Number one, you might be in the

wrong place. You know, I'm not a huge proponent of

church changing since I think too often we bail and take our problems with us, if you know what I mean.

But I do believe that a church sometimes meets our needs for a certain season and then in a

different season doesn't anymore. When the church were little, it was the right

church for us because of maybe the programs it had, had some great community there with other

parents of children that age. But now maybe the children are grown up. It's not the best

fit anymore. Things happen like that. Sometimes we do need change. Sometimes we are in the wrong

place for us. And we need to be willing

to break tradition, even if we've gone there for a long time, our parents have gone there, whatever

it is. We need to be able to let the past go so we can be where we need to be to grow and thrive.

Doesn't mean that it wasn't great for us at one point, just means it's no longer working now.
