One of my most favourite things to do is to go for a dip in a river, loch or sometimes the sea.

For me it's a total reset, a pleasurable and sometimes challenging way to wash away the day and become fully happy within myself.

Callan MacLean is a well-known advocate of outdoor swimming here in Scotland.

He's made films about his adventures and now he's

published a book called 1001 Outdoor Swimming Tips. I recently met up with them to have a chat

and a swim at the Loch of Clooney near Blair Gowery in Pershire, a beautiful calm loch tucked

away in the hills and surrounded by trees.

There's been a bit of a wild swimming craze in recent years,

but it's a term I'm not totally comfortable with, I must admit.

I'd rather just call it swimming outside.

But what does Callum think?
