| 0:07.0 | Hey, deserving listeners. In this episode, I'm going to be talking about the psychology of Larry Nasser. |
| 0:13.7 | If you're not familiar with him, he was the main doctor for the USA Gymnastics National Team. |
| 0:19.4 | He was accused of molesting hundreds of young people and young adults, |
| 0:24.4 | both males and females from about the age of 1992 until 2016. |
| 0:29.4 | That's, you know, 24 years, but he was probably abusing people way before that. |
| 0:34.4 | And in this episode, I'm definitely going to get into his psychology. |
| 0:38.4 | I'm definitely going to get into his history and maybe why he did these horrible things. |
| 0:43.4 | But what I'm more interested in talking about are the implications for us and for society. |
| 0:51.4 | Because this isn't an isolated case. This happens frequently. |
| 0:55.4 | And only the most sensational cases do we end up hearing about. |
| 1:00.4 | And only very few cases actually get convicted. |
| 1:03.4 | So this episode is going to be about Larry Nasser. |
| 1:07.4 | But it's also going to be about an indictment on our society for letting this happen for so long. |
| 1:13.4 | Because I think that people hear these kinds of stories about Larry Nasser and they go, |
| 1:17.4 | oh my god, he's such a monster. And they might hear a little bit more information like, |
| 1:21.4 | oh, there were people who enabled Larry Nasser to do these things. |
| 1:24.4 | And I think, oh, those enablers are terrible people. |
| 1:27.4 | And then they walk away feeling like they're superior and that they would never do such a thing. |
| 1:32.4 | Well, I'm here to tell you that if you were in the position of the enablers, |
| 1:36.4 | you probably would have enabled Larry Nasser to do it as well. |
| 1:40.4 | And I know that might shock you and you might think you're better than that. |
