Join me for the second chapter of this series as I go inside 112 Ocean Avenue to diagram the psychology behind the DeFeo murders, specifically dissecting the killer's methods by way of the only survivor of the massacre: Shaggy the Sheepdog. Only days before the crime, Ronald DeFeo Jr. swore to his father he was going to kill the animal. But in the end, the canine was the only one spared. Why?

Today we're going to jump into part two of an examination of the real Amityville horror,

which not only includes the murders of the Defeo family in November 1974,

but the subsequent claims of the

claims of the Lutz family that the house was actually haunted.

Of course, they were the people who moved into the infamous home after the murders

and claimed they were terrorized by mysterious unseen forces.

To the extent they finally fled the safety on January 14, 1976.

So if you've seen the original movie, that's essentially based upon the experiences of the Lutz family by way of the novel of the same name.

But its sequel is based upon what happened at the Defeos residence the night they were slaughtered by their son.

So the movies and the events in reality are actually reversed in sequence.

But if we're going to analyze the formation of the ghost panic that's going to arise in the

Of course, in part one we talked about the oddity of Ronald Jr. being able to pull the trigger
