| 0:00.0 | Welcome, everyone to the score fantasy football podcast presented by Subway. |
| 0:17.5 | I'm your host, Justin Boone, the lead fantasy analyst at the score, and I am joined by |
| 0:21.9 | my co-host, David P. Woods, a man who is as excited as I am for Saturday football this week. |
| 0:27.9 | Not only do we have an excellent Thursday nighter between the Chiefs and the Chargers, but we get |
| 0:31.9 | two games on Saturday Woods. Yeah, I mean, I love Saturday football. More football is always better. |
| 0:37.3 | I feel like I, it might be in for a bit of a tough weekend here because I haven't broken the news to my wife yet that there's Saturday football. And there's no way she's looked at the schedule. So I know she's got plans for us that day because I'm away all day Sundays, obviously, at the score covering the NFL. She probably has some thoughts on what we're going to be doing on Saturday night, but at some point I'm going to break the news to her that, yeah, I'm sorry, I'm watching football, honey. I'm out of commission that day too. Well, I can give you some advice there. I already had that conversation with my wife, and the thing I fell back on is there's only a couple more weeks here, the fantasy season. I said, after Christmas, things start to quiet down a then. So that, that's the time where we'll be able to hang out and be able to make plans and all that great stuff. But for now, it's going to be a mad dash to the finish over the next two weeks. Yeah, I always say we only get five months of football and then seven months where there's no games being played. So just give me those five months and you can have me available for those other seven months. All right. Well, today's episode of the podcast is coming out just a day late. We had some audio issues yesterday that delayed the podcast. We were supposed to have our guest on, Chris Meaney of the Athletic. A lot of you follow me would know Chris from the fantasy show that I did last year on the fantasy sports network. Chris will be coming on with us next week, though. So we're still going to get to have them on just a little bit of a delay there. On today's episode, though, we're going to have the same discussion that we always have. We're going to look at the biggest questions facing fantasy owners heading into the semifinals. |
| 2:03.5 | And it once again seems to revolve around running backs. |
| 2:08.0 | And maybe the delay here Woods of a day is going to be a good thing because we got a little bit more as far as injury updates go for some of these running backs for Odell Beckham, |
| 2:12.3 | Jr. |
| 2:12.9 | So we're going to have a little bit more knowledge on those situations. |
| 2:16.0 | We're also going to discuss a couple of players who we think are announcing their arrivals as potential fantasy stars the rest of the season. |
| 2:22.2 | And as usual, we're going to wrap things up with the players we think are being overlooked this week. |
| 2:27.3 | Before we get into all that, though, make sure you subscribe to the podcast on iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Spotify, Anchor, whatever podcast platform you're using. And once you do, give us a rating, give us a review. I promise you, it does not take that long. And when the season ends here, we are going to continue into the off season. We're going to have episodes all throughout the off season for you. So it's going to be great stuff. We're going to give you a look ahead to next year's rankings. We're going to look at draft prospects, free agency, all that great stuff. So make sure that you're subscribed. All right, Woods. Let's take a look at a couple players here who have burst on the scene in our fantasy arrivals segment, which is presented by our friends at Subway, home of the new Montreal Steak Spice |
| 3:08.1 | Collection. And for the second straight week, I am going to offer up a Broncos receiver. This time, |
| 3:14.3 | it's Deshaun Hamilton. So Denver drafted Cortland Sutton and Hamilton to be the eventual |
| 3:19.1 | replacements for Demer's Thomas and Emmanuel Sanders. And I think most of us thought that that was |
| 3:23.8 | going to take place in 2019. |
| 3:25.6 | But with Thomas traded, with Sanders out for the year now, we're seeing both rookies |
| 3:30.6 | contribute. |
| 3:31.7 | And Sutton has had a role pretty much all season, but Hamilton's just getting his opportunity |
| 3:36.7 | now. |
| 3:37.5 | The Sanders injury is the big reason for that. |
