He is the founder and director of the History's A Violence Project and his latest books include Liberal Terror and Resilient Life,

the Art of Living Dangerously. Liberal Terror, that's one book.

And I've got to know you somewhat now, Brad. It was nice to meet up with you in Harrogate and see you.

No, it's a pleasure. We had a different type of chat when we were with our life partners.

Was he a contemporary of Sartre who, the stuff I was interested in, was he's writing on eroticism and death?

And the connection between those two things?

Yeah, no, and he's a fascinating character who theorizes a lot about excess and about excessive human behavior.
