I want to play something for you. You're Your Hearing Mailman by Soundgarden featuring my guest Matt Cameron on drums.

Cameron joined the influential Seattle band in 1986 and brought with him a singular playing

style that combines brute force and exceptional finesse.

His meticulously composed parts, delivered with unwavering confidence, helped launch the band

to critical and commercial heights.

Soundgarden ended its initial run in 1997, and Matt was soon recruited by Pearl Jam.

He's the band's longest tenured drummer and has contributed to six studio albums and countless tours.

Matt's musical activity extends beyond the drum kit.

He's consistently written songs for both Soundgarden and Pearl Jam.

He sings for his own band Well Water Conspiracy.

He's collaborated with everyone from Getty Lee to Zach Hill and Janet Weiss,

and he's currently preparing for tour with the reunited supergroup, Temple of the Dog.

I must say that my father was a really avid jazz fan, and my parents grew up in, you know,

the 30s, 40s era, swing time when groups like, you know, Benny Goodman, Dorsey, Artie Shaw,

Duke Allington, Count Basie, like those guys were, those guys were
