All right, well let's go to the Lord and prayer. Father, thank you for your grace and

your mercy that you have lavished upon us in the Lord Jesus Christ and we love you,

we love him, we love your word.

And so I pray that you would help us as we look now into the scripture.

I pray you'd bless these men immeasurably deposit the truth into their heart and

soul.

May it bring forth much fruit. Fill me with your spirit now, in Christ's name,

Amen.

Okay, we're in 1st John 5 verses 14 and 15, and the title of this is confidence in prayer.

Confidence in prayer.

And so I want to begin by reading the verses in starting in verse 14. This is the confidence

which we have before him

that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.

And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from him.

In these verses, John places a great importance

upon prayer.

And it's a recognition that you and I have great needs in our
