Hi everyone and welcome to the very first episode of the cinnophiles where each week we enter the world of a classic film and explore its history, themes, filmmaking, and the influence it has on filmmakers today.

My name is Steve Morris.

I'm a filmmaker and directing teacher in Los Angeles, California.

Hi, I'm John Roca, I'm an actor and a voiceover actor as well here in Los Angeles, California.

I also host a bunch of podcasts and YouTube shows.

A growing number of podcasts. it seems like you're on

podcast almost every day. Yes including this one. Yeah. And when Steve

proposed this idea to me I was like oh yeah this would be awesome because Steve

and I always get into these incredibly long discussions

about films and Steve you're what is your official title like what you teach what do you

teach and where? So I teach directing at the New York Film Academy okay I have a

masters in film from USC.

Yes.

And I've been working as a filmmaker in documentaries and narratives and web series for the last 18 years.

Yeah, and you just did a film. Oh, you've been, you just did a film oh you've been you were shopping a film

recently right for the last year and a half a documentary on the shark what was

that's beyond the cage of fear and it's a documentary about great White Sharks. It's actually aired all over

Europe and a little bit of Asia. Yeah. And is not aired in the United States.

Right. So we have some and me obviously I've been in a in a number of projects and I do a number of

podcasts about film so and I'm on shows to talk about film and TV so we just

thought we'd get this thing together and see what would come out of it.

What is the basis, what is, do we want to tell them the point of this, like, what's the premise of the show?
