But sometimes the punishment is an arbitrary, ironic one just to entertain the gods and whoever is reading this myth about them.

Today I want to talk about Greek mythology and some of the punishments that befall people in these stories.

I want to talk about it because I just recently saw an opera based on an ancient Greek myth.

And the idea came to me and I just wanted to talk about it because that's the rule here on the Council of Trent.

On Mondays and Wednesdays, we talk apologetics and theology.

But on Friday, we talk about whatever I want to talk about.

Today, that's what I want to talk about.

So a few months ago, I went and saw Orpheus and you're Adise.

You're Adich. a few months ago I went and saw Orpheus and Euridece. I don't know, because it's an Italian opera.

Now, actually, that kind of is the plot for Orpheus and Euridece,

that Orpheus is a guy who's mourning the death of his wife.

Eros comes and gives, maybe that's from the Roman, the Roman adaptation, and given permission

by the gods to go in the underworld to get her back, but on one condition, there's always a

catch. And the catch is, you cannot look at her and you can't tell her why you can't look at her.

He goes the underworld, and he uses beautiful singing voice to gain

access to the underworld. Then he goes, he finds your Adisa and then in the process of trying

to get her out of the underworld and back to the real world, she complains and whines and is really

upset and mad that he won't look at her or tell her why. And then he finally gives in and looks
