In the end, it was 12-year-old Daniel Bever who alerted authorities to the massacre

taking place in his broken-arrow Oklahoma home, and although the youngster didn't make it out alive, his quick thinking helped save his sister's lives.

He was able to tell the dispatcher that his older brothers, aspiring family annihilators and rampage killers, 18-year-old Robert and 16-year-old Michael Bever, were attacking their family.

On this episode of murderous minors, we'll hear about parents who wanted to shield their children from the outside world in most ways, but excluding the internet, where their oldest son found a home amongst the darkness and seemingly dragged his younger brother along.

This episode contains allegations of child abuse, part of the 911 call, mention of a suicide attempt and ultimately, the violent, brutal murders of almost an entire family.

This is a heartbreaking gruesome story that you just don't want to be true, so please be advised.

By 2015, the Bever family was large by some standards.

Parents David Bever aged 52 and his 44-year-old wife April had seven children.

April described in a Reddit thread how they'd married when she was 15 years old.

She was active online and also worked some from her home office. Her Facebook and Reddit posts revolve around having a premature or ill child, and she'd even started a foundation in her youngest daughter's name who was believed to have been born prematurely.

Neighbors in their South Broken Arrow neighborhood of Indian Springs recalled that the family kept mostly to themselves.

The oldest of the seven kids, 18-year-old Robert and 16-year-old Michael Bever, harbored a secret that wasn't even very well hidden.

They were obsessed with murderers, serial killers and mass shooters most notably and school shooters, and had been amassing a collection of knives and body armor for a year by the summer of 2015.

The darkness seems to have begun with Robert, with Michael later following along.

Robert developed an obsession with the 2011 film Morampage about a sprinkler carrying out a violent plan, and by the time he turned 18 and was able to legally purchase weapons and gear, the Bever brothers were developing a plan of their own.

They shared a bedroom, leaving them able to talk and plan whenever they liked.

They searched topics online such as Famila side, torture, mass murder, minimum age for the death penalty in Oklahoma, knives, glau can guns and capital punishment.

Robert, the oldest, said later that though they were considered to be homeschooled, they were more accurately quote self-educated.

They didn't participate in any structure programs or activities and their mother routinely gave them websites to refer to per Robert's later testimony.

He also said that he personally taught his younger brother Michael the third, fourth and fifth grades.
