0:29.2	Hi friends, welcome back to Verity Podcast. Today we're talking about a topic that is close to my
0:35.8	heart because I have seen how much members of my audience, my reader base, has struggled with this.
0:43.8	It was illustrated for me a couple of weeks ago when I took assumptions on Instagram, so
0:49.5	typically what this is is when an influencer will post a question box on Instagram and say,
0:54.8	tell me your assumptions about me, and then they'll answer whether those assumptions are true
1:00.1	or false. I took assumptions about God and the Bible, and out of those assumptions what I came to
1:09.9	realize is that many Christians are not secure in their salvation. They struggle to believe
1:18.4	that their salvation is actually safe, that they are actually saved, and as I talked with some
1:24.9	people in DMs about this, I quickly realized that many of them were basically asking God to save
1:32.9	them over and over and over again instead of resting in the security of their salvation and the
1:39.3	peace and joy of walking with Christ. Their doubt and struggle with this eternal security
1:45.7	was causing such chaos in their Christian life. They really couldn't grow in maturity at all,
1:51.6	nor could they effectively disciple other people. And since we know that God's will is our maturity,
1:56.4	and we know that Christ's command is to evangelize, we've got to get to the root of why we struggle
2:02.0	so much with eternal security, also called assurance of salvation. And that's what this episode
2:08.7	is all about. I feel so strongly about this because first of all, I am a Wesleyan Arminian, and all
2:15.0	that means is that my theology adheres more closely to libertarian free will when it comes to salvation.
