Summary

Theresia Gouw was born in Indonesia, grew up in Buffalo and is now one of the richest female venture capitalists in the country. She earned her degree in Engineering from Brown University in a 90% male, 10% female graduating class (the first in her high school to attend the university) before moving out west to attend Stanford Business School and later become the first female managing partner at Accel Partners which was one of Facebook’s earliest investors in 2005. On this episode, Theresia opens up about leaving Accel to co-found her own firm Aspect Ventures, the importance of creating an inclusive culture in the tech industry, and what she believes are the hottest sectors for VC investment today.
