Hey everybody and welcome back to I Just Want to talk about the Bible.

If this is your first time joining us, then let me just welcome you and say that I am so glad that you're here today.

My name is Christian, and I live in the southeast of the United States of America with my amazing beautiful godly wife Lacey and

our two wonderful daughters, Felicity and Serenity. So the year was 2016. I lay in a hospital bed

about to be wheeled back into an operating room.

Soon, the anesthesia would kick in and I would be unconscious for a number of hours as a doctor broke my toes and sliced my Achilles tendon and dealt with some other tendons in my feet,

inserted long metal rods into four of my toes,

and then put a permanent screw through my biggest toe that would stay in my foot forever.

The coming days and weeks, of course, would have a lot of limited mobility.

I would be using crutches and other such devices to help me get around.

There would be a lot of pain to manage.

And I would be dealing with the results of this immediately the painful results for quite a while.

Then, of course, I would go to physical therapy to try to build back strength so that life could be resumed as normal.

So why would I go through with this process?

Why would I go somewhere and just cooperate with somebody breaking my toes and slicing my

tendons and knowing that it was going to put me

in weeks of discomfort and pain, right? Like, why would I do that? Mine, the answer is obvious.

You know, it's like you go and you get surgery to fix something, right? Because something is off,

because something is broken, because something is broken, because something

is not working properly. And so surgery is a medical intervention to fix what is broken or to remove

what should not be there, to help somebody move closer towards wholeness, right, in a physical sense, closer to the

way things should be. And sometimes surgery happens because of some sort of traumatic event.
