Summary

Marcela Sapone and Jessica Beck created the idea for Hello Alfred on a piece of paper with stick figure drawings while attending Harvard Business School. They got their start by slipping postcards under doors in Boston to promote their services, and later decided they wanted to cancel the business for multiple reasons. But it was too late, their customers were already hooked, leaving these co-founders with no choice but to press on. On this episode, Sapone and Beck discuss how they built Hello Alfred from the ground up, working every job in the company, how they turned down multiple investors for not supporting their human-centered vision and the craziest thing someone has asked their Alfred to do.
