am so stoked for episode two of the first section of our church history series. We

are in the early church portion of this series, and there will be eight

episodes for each section. So in this episode, we're going to be talking about

the world of the early church. What was going on contextually at the time of

the church's formation, and as they were beginning to grow and spread

throughout the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe. So this is my first time

doing this. So please bear with me to consolidating all of this information is

a lot of work, and I'm trying to make it as interesting as possible for you. I

think it's fascinating, but I know that I have some people in the crowd who

maybe aren't super into history bear with me. I think you're going to find this

more enjoyable and more interesting than you might think at first. Here's the

exciting thing about this history. There's stuff that you don't know that isn't

written down in scripture because the people who received scripture knew their

own context. So if you were to receive a letter from your pastor, he would

probably mention a variety of things that he takes for granted you know. So he

might mention your iPhone or Instagram, maybe he'll mention a nearby city that
