Hello everyone, this is Sam, and this is episode 125 of the VictorPrep Vocal Podcast.

0:09.6

And today I have, sadly, no quote or poetry for you, I have a really bad headache, and

0:17.8

my brain isn't working so well today, so normally I put in a bit of time to do some research

0:25.1

and find a really good quote or poem for you, but it was just not possible, not possible

0:29.9

today. So sorry about that. Now let's review the words from yesterday quickly. So we had

0:37.7

August, Florida, pre-varicate, and widely. So August, when describing a person, means respected

0:50.0

and impressive, and especially used for those of high rank or stature, but it can also be

0:57.2

used to describe something that evokes a sense of grandeur or reverence. Florida, Florida,

1:06.2

that means having a red or a flushed complexion, but can also mean something that is excessively

1:32.0

skilled at gaining some advantage, especially in a deceitful way. Okay, so now onto the new

1:41.5

1:50.8

noun, and a Kabal is a secret political function or a political click. So it's a group of people

2:00.4

who are grouped together because they all support some sort of political cause, but the critical

2:07.2

factor is that it's a secret political group. So usually when you have a Kabal, because it's

2:15.0

a secret political group, there's an implication that this Kabal is up to no good. I.e. they're

2:21.8

doing something that may be illegal, or they have some plans that they want to keep it in, because

2:28.4

if it were known that they were planning this thing, they might be arrested, and so on. So you

2:33.9

might have a Kabal in a country or a place where there was a very authoritarian government,

2:40.8

because that authoritarian government simply doesn't allow there to be competing political parties.

2:47.1

And the classic example of a Kabal in British history is that of Guy Forks and the gunpowder plot,
