Thanks to a poorly refrigerated pyramid of putrefrying prawns at the annual KSB radio gala,

I was the last man standing, or sitting as we don't have standing desks in the recording booth,

we really should have had a look into that.

It was up to me, Terry Carnation, to save radio as we know it.

I hosted three different shows in 12 straight hours, pushing my mind and body to the limit,

and beyond.

I stared into the abyss and it vomited in my face.

My audience turned on me, tormenting me with gallows humor about my dead wife.

There was no escape, I was locked in the studio, forced to perform like a trained minor bird,

and truly, I know why the caged bird sings.

In my rage, I destroyed any and everything blocking my path to freedom.

I smashed a window, I threw my engineer and my only friend, Jeet, into a vending machine.

And as I fled the scene, I knew I was throwing away the thing I valued most in the world.
