Depression is a liar.

Depression tells you that you're someone who you actually are not.

It tells you that you're a terrible person.

It tells you that you're somebody who everybody doesn't care about it all, yet everybody actively says horrible things constantly behind your back.

And that's a paradox because how can it be both?

But depression tells you that it's both and it gets away with it.

It tells you that the world is something that it's both and it gets away with it. It tells you that the world is something that it isn't.

It lies. It lies about the meanings of all kinds of things. And the thing is, as a liar,

as an artisan at the craft of lying, depression's really good at it. It's convincing as hell. It

overcomes those logical paradoxes, those impossibilities, those things that can't possibly be

true. And it makes them true. It's skilled. Anxiety isn't always a liar. It can tell you about worst case scenarios, and I'm sorry, sometimes those scenarios do come true. It sucks. So anxiety, not always a liar, but anxiety is a thief. It robs you of living in the moment because you're too worried about the future,

or sometimes you're too worried about the past, and so you're stuck in the wrong place in time.

It's like a cheesy science fiction movie. You're just stuck somewhere else in your head

other than the present moment.

And anxiety deprives you of considering the possibility of good things happening.

It steals your hope.

And you need that hope.
