Hi this is Steve. There are some films that are hard. Those movies you know you're

supposed to watch but can't quite bring yourself to pull the trigger or the films

you saw once and swore you'd never do that to yourself again.

Then there's another kind of film.

The kind you'd watch anytime, any place.

The ones that stop you dead when you're switching channels or makes you late to that important

meeting because you just have to get to the end.

These are the movies that we hold dear that are special to us and the way an old friend can be special and no matter how many

times we return to them they always manage to touch us because they live in our

hearts. The Shawshank Redemption is that kind of movie.

In fact, it's probably one of the most beloved movies in the history of cinema.

Based on a little known Stephen King Novella and written for the screen and directed by Frank Darabount, Shawshank bombed when it first appeared in theaters.

But over time, with TV broadcasts and home video, this film became an all-time favorite.

Now, I'm guessing most of you have probably already seen Shawshank.
