Hi this is Steve. For the last week I've been studying Mel Gibson's 1995 Academy Award-winning film Brave Art.

0:08.0

I've waited through fight choreography and period costumes, use of slow motion, locations, film scoring, and sound design.

0:15.0

But this film has also led me to study the real lives

0:18.6

of William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, King Edward the First of England,

0:22.2

and their battles over the independence of Scotland,

0:25.1

which in turn has led me to the modern Scottish independence movement and its connections to Ireland,

0:30.4

Brexit and European politics.

0:32.8

1:00.5

mystery to me. Barry's heart is an extremely popular film and among our most requested on Patreon,

1:06.6

but if you haven't actually seen it, you might want to visit cinnophiles.net,

1:10.9

where you can go down your own rabbit hole by buying or streaming every

1:15.1

film we've ever reviewed. When you're done with that you can come back on Friday

1:19.7

to hear how our conversation went on part one of Braveheart only on the Cinephiles.

1:27.0

I'm dying in your beds many years from now.

1:32.0

Would you be willing to trade all the days from this day to that for one chance just one chance to come back here and tell our enemies that they may take our lives, but they'll never

1:47.9

take our freedom! No, no. the cinnophiles where each week we enter the world of a great film we explore
