I'm looking over here. I've got my little retro pie setup and I've got a Mortal Kombat

fight stick and I cannot get it to map to MK2 and it's driving me crazy because I want to play

it so bad. Why MK2 right now? Dude, that's my favorite. That's the one they introduced Barack.

I was such a big MK fan. I dumped a lot of quarters.

There was a bowling alley that we went to whenever we would sneak out.

And we just dumped enough college intuition or intuition,

tuition and intuition into this machine.

And then MK2 came out.

And there was all these new characters.

And the fact that they brought out, you know,

smoke was there and reptile was there you can actually play those characters

was super cool and then when mk3 came out there was a different movie theater that we

would go to just to play that game and the run button just like changed everything

and the whole that was the first time since like Virtua Fighter that like

combos and everything like Street Fighter a little bit, but it was mainly like the combo system in that was the first time for me to ever be like, holy shit, if I timed it, if I don't just button mash, but if I'm very skillful, then I can actually dominate.

Mortal Kombat to me has just been like one of the most,

it was one of those groundbreaking arcade games

because thinking back to where that game started,

you didn't know about those cheats unless you heard it anecdotally.

There wasn't any, there was like a kid in the arcade

that was like, watch what happens when I go up, up high punch when I play a scorpion.

And it was like, whoa, he took off his face and he burned the guy.
