During the Christmas season, Santa sends an elf to every child's home to see if they're being naughty or nice.

All day they watch their child, never blinking and never moving,

and each night they return to the North Pole

to report back to Santa.

Who came up with the Alpha... to report back to Santa.

Who came up with the Elf on the Shelf? Seriously?

Who thought it was a good idea to hide an Elf each and every night?

It never fails.

My wife and I head to the bedroom. I lay down, I turn over, close my eyes, and sit up in a panic.

Did you remember to move the elf? Of course I didn't remember. Now I have to walk all the way

downstairs, move the elf, and each year it gets more complicated. It

started with one elf, his name was Elliot, then the next year they introduced

the girl elf. We now have three freaking elves to move around every night.

And they can't just move.

They have to do something creative.

I really hate this tradition, but I must admit,

I mean, sometimes it's a little fun when the elves do something naughty,

but trying to come up with something clever every night gets old really fast.

But now that we've started this insane tradition we can't just stop.

One year I snuck into my oldest daughter's room.

Surely she should be asleep by now right?
