It's so great to see you. I'm loving the glasses John. Well my eyes I'm 52 and my eyes are going bad so these are actually prescription glasses. They're not cosmetic.

Well my eyes are going bad too but my vanity is greater than my need to see. My need to see is barely exceeding my vanity but only just tiny bit tiny bit. Well you've got the total point dexter vibe going on.

Oh you did it. You got it in there. I love it. The elix the cat. I wonder who wonderful. Nobody knows what we're talking about. All right.

All right everyone. Today we are going to be talking about where this is part two of the little series that we're doing. And the series is on a recent speech that Elder David A. Bednar, Mormon Apostle, Prophet Seer and Revelator gave to the National Press Club in Washington DC coinciding with the open house and renovation and rededication of the Washington DC temple where Marguenai were married.

And where lots of good things have happened over the years. So basically for those who didn't watch part one, please pause this go back and watch part one and then come back and watch this this part two episode is going to build on part one. But what happened in part one is that Herardo Jen R. F. M. and I basically did a full review of that first part of his talk.

And that video has been very well received people really enjoyed it. What's most interesting is we haven't even gotten to the good stuff yet because most people didn't really pay a ton of attention to his actual talk. What they did pay attention to was to the Q&A that happened after we mentioned in part one that it's been like what 22 years since a Mormon leader has spoken to the National Press Club.

And what we also talked about was how those days of President Gordon B. Hinkley speaking openly to Mike Wallace on 60 minutes or Larry King. Those days are gone because with the internet.

Mormon leaders have increasingly been on the tail end of very difficult questions by reporters that they weren't prepared for.

And it led to some very embarrassing moments and we shared a couple of those embarrassing moments one is a few gaps that Elder Bednar made one with the child and one where he said that there are no homosexuals in the church.

Those are a couple of gaps we showed with Elder Bednar which shows the risks of kind of going off script in the internet age as a Mormon apostle.

But we also showed Elder Jeffrey our Holland's interview with the BBC during the time of Mitt Romney where Elder Holland was asked some pretty pointed questions.

And he was caught lying on camera deceiving if lying is ghosts as RFM likes to say caught misrepresenting the truth.

We had to cut that BBC clip out of the video because the BBC filed a copyright violation claim.

But what we do want to do we can include in the show notes the full episode that includes the full interview with Mitt Romney it's up there about me Romney right.

Yeah what did I say with me. Yeah about Mitt Romney thank you John Swini from the BBC doing a full hour about Mormons and about Mitt Romney and about Mormon apostasy where it includes kind of a lengthy I don't know 10 minute Q&A where Jeffrey our Holland is caught in probably several moments of deception anyway.

Having said all that what made this Q&A with David A Bednar super interesting is that it happened is that he was willing to take questions now one of the big questions I have just to begin with that I'll throw out to the panel.
