Hello everyone and welcome to another edition of Mormon Stories podcast. I am one of your two

0:05.9

co-hosts for today, John Delin. It is June 20th, 2022 and I'm here in studio with Jen Camp. Hey Jen.

0:14.4

Hi everybody. Thanks for joining us. Of course. Yeah, it's good to have you Jen. Thanks.

0:19.3

And we are here for what I think is going to be one of the most important interviews of the year

0:26.0

and maybe it'll go down as one of the most important interviews that I do. We are here today to

0:33.6

interview Melissa and Sam. This is Sam Zitting Weissen and Melissa Zitting Weissen who went by Melissa,

0:45.5

I guess, Cowell's before you married Sam. Is that right? Yes. And they are the co-hosts of a really

0:53.2

exciting and up-and-coming YouTube channel called Growing Up Polygamy which has at least 20,000

0:58.1

subscribers. And my personal inbox has been inundated over the past month or two with requests to

1:04.9

interview them because they have such a devoted loyal following who wants to hear their full story

1:10.9

from start to finish. And with the not just the under the banner of heaven series that came out on Hulu,

1:18.8

but recently a new series has come out on Netflix called Keep Sweet Prey and Obey. I think it's

1:26.4

called, which is talking about the fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Letters Saints or the

1:31.8

FLDS Church that is still, I guess, currently led by Warren Jeffs. It's an offshoot of the

1:38.1

most well-known LDS Church that up until recently was primarily located in Colorado City or

1:45.2

Short Creek, which is either in Southern Utah or Northern Arizona or somewhere in Colorado. I

1:50.3

forget exactly what the what the borders are of that of that group. And of course at some point

1:56.4

they moved to El Dorado and of course at some point Warren Jeffs was put in jail for I guess it

2:02.3

was an accomplice to rape of a minor. But we're going to get into all that. But this Netflix series,

2:10.3

both Harado, my my colleague got into it and and then Jen Camp also really got into it. Jen

2:17.5

cares a lot about this issue. It's personal to her as well. And both Harado and Jen are like,

2:23.1

John, we really need to cover fundamentalist polygamy more on Mormon stories. I'll I'll just say we
