Well, good morning, beautiful. Welcome to a brand new day of life. Happy Monday, my friends. I hope you had an

amazing weekend. Welcome to this new day and this new week. It's a double gift. I'm so happy that

you're here today. I'm so thankful that you and I get to be alive and we get to share this time together.

Let's get the day started right.

Today I want to clue you in a little bit to my process of hearing from God each morning to bring you a new devotional.

Maybe you've been listening for years.

I mean, we've been doing this a really long time, over 1,700

episodes of this podcast. And before it became a podcast, it was a conference call that people called

into for years and years before that. But I had a little bit of a process. First, I work on a very tight timeline.

I have one hour from the time I sit down to write until I go live. And I find this restricted

amount of time gets my squirrel chasing mind to depend fully on God and focus on his

promptings. A time constraint gets me out of the way so God can do his work. And I only begin writing

after I have prayed. And you need to know about this prayer because it's really about you.

My prayer is always the same. Lord, you know who will be listening today. And you know what they

need to hear. So please use me as your vessel to speak to each of them. I am available and I am listening.

Please lead me to the right topic, the right scripture, give me the right stories and the right

energy flow through me. Let your words be my words and my words be your words that's the prayer i pray about you every morning

and then i pray the same two scriptures every morning first one comes from isaiah 50 verses four through

nine lord you have given me a well-taught tongue so I know how to encourage tired people.

You wake me up each morning, you open my ears to listen, and I'm ready to take orders.
