0:44.8	Now, as a quick caveat, we're not talking about Bible sermons today. We're talking about Bible lessons.
0:51.2	We'll get a little bit more into that distinction later on in the episode.
0:54.9	But basically, what we want to talk about today is give some practical tools on preparing and delivering Bible lessons for people leading small groups, discipleship groups, Sunday school classes, all those sort of things where people are going to be preparing lessons from the Bible from scratch.
1:15.6	Now, starting it off, most people will teach from some sort of pre-prepared curriculum.
1:22.9	With so much curriculum being out there and available, Aaron, why would people even bother preparing
1:30.2	their own material? I think curriculum has a place if you're running a large ministry and you want
1:36.9	continuity. So if you're running a Sunday school and you have multiple grades and you want to make
1:42.1	sure that over the course of a 10 yearyear period, the students learn certain things.
1:47.5	Everyone is kind of pulling in the same direction.
1:50.8	I think there's a place for curriculum.
1:53.1	But there's some downsides to it.
1:55.7	First of all, if you have bad curriculum, you know, you have to make a lot of adjustments or if the curriculum is inadequate
2:01.7	in its Bible exposition or inadequate in its application or maybe it doesn't come with
2:06.1	adequate tools. I know that that can be challenging. But one of the main reasons, so I'm not
2:13.6	opposed, by the way, to curriculum for large-scale ministries.
2:21.5	I don't really see the point of it for people teaching individual lessons.
