Hello and welcome to the secular Buddhism podcast, a podcast that presents Buddhist

0:08.0

teachings, concepts, and ideas from a secular perspective. You don't need to use what you learn from Buddhism to be a Buddhist,

0:15.2

you can use what you learn to simply be a better whatever you already are. I am your host

0:20.9

Noah Rocheta and let's jump in to today's topic.

Today's podcast episode is a podcast that has been in the works for over a year now.

It was actually last September that I recorded this interview with John

0:36.4

Michelle and Amanda from Uplift Kids and I had come across their work through

0:42.2

knowing John previously, and he had posted it on Facebook and

0:47.8

were friends on Facebook.

1:30.3

similar issue which is sometimes these concepts are explained in a way that

1:34.7

are just difficult for kids to understand. It's like written more for adults and even

1:41.7

with the adult stuff a lot of times it's written in a way that's just really difficult to understand.

1:47.0

When I came across this curriculum, I first gave it a try, downloaded one of the lesson plans, and I was very pleased with how it was presented and I was sold on the idea. I thought, okay, I'm going to subscribe to this. So I reached out to John and thought, it would be really neat to interview you and talk with you about your podcast, because it's a podcast that they have called Uplift Kids and the

2:15.4

podcast content is supplemental information for parents to be prepared to

2:21.2

present the lesson so they give you the to present the lesson.
