I don't even know where to begin with this one except that I've adored Mary Heffernan (of Five Marys Farms) for YEARS and then... I got a chance to talk with her. The Heffernans run a massive ranch in Ft. Jones, California where they raise Black Angus cattle, Berkshire hogs, and Navajo-Churro sheep as a family - Mary, Brian, and their four daughters who are also all named Mary!! Mary self-describes herself as a serial entrepreneur so this episode weaves all over the place - from her first businesses as an elementary-school kid all the way through opening restaurants, moving to a ranch, writing cookbooks, offering entrepreneurship courses and more. We talk about how empowered kids feel when they are a part of the daily caregiving of home and animals. 0:24.1	And I was like, I think just one Mary. But we have been huge fans for such a long time,

1:25.0	Yeah I made sure of that my I had to like fight my publisher like the spines have to align

1:33.2	But yeah, the Quick Books were definitely a labor of love about four or five years to make both of them,
1:39.8	but it's a really fun way to share our family recipes and traditions and we've got some fun
1:44.1	DIYs in there. So I'm glad they're finally out and on the shelf and now we can just look at them as
1:50.2	pretty things instead of being mired and all the details of publishing a cookbook.
