Oh, it was tumultuous.

It got ugly.

We were all involved in a very ugly public fight between Mommy and Daddy.

Mommy said this about Daddy. Daddy leaked this about Mommy. We thought Daddy was going to go sleep with somebody else.

We weren't sure how this was going to end. But at the end of the day, daddy and mommy are not divorcing.

They told us as children, we'll be together for at least a year. I can't promise you more than that.

I can't tell you we're going to grow old together. But I can tell you that for one year, we're getting back together.

And if you are a New York metropolitan baseball fan on this Thursday afternoon,

a fresh 15 or 16 hours after you got the news last night,

that Pete Alonzo is returning to the New York Mets on a two-year deal with an opt-out after year one.

You have to be excited.

If you're not excited, I think something's wrong with you.

Because this is best for business.

Well, it's best for both sides of the business.

That's what it comes down to.

At some point, this did become inevitable.

It was just a matter of when.

We had our predictions on when Pete Alonzo would sign.
