I want to move to the second heading and this is really good.

Because the next four words are very important.

Grace, mercy and peace. Here are the next four words,

will be with us.

I looked up, will be. And it means with absolute certainty. So this greeting here is different from all the other greetings in the New Testament.

Grace to you and peace from God our Father. Those are requests, almost like a prayer request. May you have grace, may you have

peace. This is not a request. This is not a petition

petition that you would have grace and peace.

This is an emphatic indicative statement.

It will be with us. And John in a very pastoral endearing way

includes himself with her and her children. I'm in this boat together with you. We're in the

same spiritual family and so this is not a wish that you would have grace, mercy, and peace.

This is really a declaration.

This is an affirmation.
