We humans can struggle to put things into words, like the deepest things that we're experiencing.

Somebody noted this on X, and I thought it was accurate.

He said, if you want to understand contemporary culture, and that's somebody who's a believer in Jesus,

you need to understand the internal state of most people is defined by a baseline grief slash shame

for which they do not have adequate language.

And a painful longing for belonging for which they likewise have no serviceable words.

I think it's true.

I think the people you interact with, people that seem otherwise like they got it all

together or don't even think deep.

Like they don't have the words.

How to put it into words, this grief, shame that they're not enough or this fear that they'll be left alone.

Can't put it in words.

I say that only because again, the way of Jesus is so beautiful and so profound and his kingdom

is so profound that it answers these longings. He is the answer to these longings.
