Welcome to the Huntback Country Podcast. This is episode number 220 and we thank you for tuning in today.

If we go back years ago to the very beginning of this podcast, Steven I talked before this show began about, you know, we should start a podcast because we get to know some cool people.

We do know some cool people, we have some interesting conversations and it would be fun to share those with other folks.

And that's honestly how this whole thing got rolling. It's, you know, changed and adapted over time. But today is one of those episodes that makes me think of those origins.

Our guest is Rafe and he is a guide up in Alaska that we got to know when we were in Kodiak, Alaska this past fall.

Rafe was with Jerry and Rafe and Jerry worked together at Foxtail Lodge where Steven I had our Kodiak Blacktail Hunt.

Although Rafe is a guide, this was an unguided hunt, but he was there kind of helping out doing some of the transport.

We were using his boat, for example, in the mornings and evenings. They were dropping us off and picking us up.

If you haven't heard about that, Kodiak Hunt, go back to episode 201 and 202 to hear Steven I recap that experience.

I can't say enough good things about Jerry and Rafe and the operation there at Foxtail Lodge, as we've said before, it truly feels like family.

And Rafe, Rafe's the character man. There's no other way to say it. He's just a fun guy to talk to and listen to.

We wanted to get him on the show to talk about some of his experiences and relate that to things that we can learn.
