Well, contrary to early reports last week, Russia did not fire an intercontinental ballistic missile or ICBM,

at Ukraine as a response to Washington and London's decision to let Kiev fire medium-range

missiles like attackings and stormshadows into Russia, which would, of course, have been a world-first

and a significant escalation. But it did use an intermediate range ballistic missile, or IRBM, known as

an Ereschnik, that uses multiple re-entry vehicles or warheads, hence the spectacular set of

explosions that Patrick mentioned last week. Well, Russia confirmed that it was the first time it had

used the missile, which it said was a successful

test of this Ereshnik, and it was in response to those who are trying to blackmail Russia,

a bit of a vague phrase that Putin added, there were plenty more of these new missiles,

and they were ready to be used, They fly at 10 times the speed of sound

and they can't be intercepted. And so a warning that more of that was on the way. And also

delivered at the same time a threat from Moscow that it may target military facilities in states

supporting Ukraine. So that's a clear kind of warning to Britain, frauds and US.

Inevitably, Patrick, this produced a robust response in many Western capitals with foreign

ministers from the G7, calling Russia's use of a new ballistic missile in Ukraine, reckless and
