This is the Bamboa podcast with Marty Solman. I'm his co-host, Brent Billings. Today we continue our review of the chosen with the discussion on the seventh episode of the first season.

And Marty, I just have to put a disclaimer at the beginning. I am being destroyed right now by my allergies. So I'm a little congested. You may hear that in my voice if you haven't already.

We had a Zoom call earlier this morning, Brent. And when you first got on, I was like, oh, Brent's allergies aren't so bad. And then I saw you.

Yeah. And I was like, oh, look at Brent's face. He is not feeling good today at all.

Yeah, I am not. I'm not a site to behold at this moment.

It did not look fun. My kids used to have a book called the Pout Pout Fish with the Pout Pout face. And he spreads his jury wearies all over the place.

And I thought Brent looks like he has spent time with the Pout Pout Fish. Should I add that book to the show notes?

I don't know. It is a great book. It even came with a little stuffed animal, but I don't know if it's show note worthy. I'll let you make that decision.

Yeah. All right. Well, I'll check it out. A surprising difference in links for this episode. Nobody saw that one coming.

I want to say there's probably too much spiritual value in that book. I'd have to go back and think about it some more. But there you go.

Yeah, I heard everything spiritual. Everything is spiritual. It's so true. All right. Well, let's fire that spoiler horn and get right into this episode then.

Episode seven. Here we go.

So we start off in the Sinai Peninsula in the 13th century. And we see Moses in a tent. We don't know it's Moses right away.

But Joshua comes in, starts giving this report. And we see that Moses is hammering out this bronze snake.

And he puts it up on a pole, referenced the numbers 21. And Joshua is like, look, it doesn't make any sense to do this. And Moses, like it's not about, it's not about reasoning.

It's about the faith of it. And yeah. So I think there's probably some interesting things to pull out of that little scene.

You know, I just watched it. And I was like, is that what it's about? Is that? And I can't, you know, and we did our, I can't remember even how much we touched on it if at all in our podcast content Brent.

But I just, I couldn't figure out like I thought I hated it. And then I was like, like the scene. I was like, that's what that is. And then I was like, but I really don't have like it is one of those.

Especially the John three, which, you know, spoiler alert, that's where this is headed. The John three connection to like I tried to, I tried to interact with that passage in numbers without John in mind.

Like I try to not let the New Testament interpret my old testament. I think that's where we get so much trouble. But kind of like the whole time, like I know that what I'm going to do is check it against John three to see if whatever I'm doing with numbers works in John three.

And to be honest, it's still one of those passages. It's just so confounding to me.

And I would say I actually do share a lot of the, what would you call it? A lot of the intentions here with what they're communicating in this scene.
