we are going to be speaking to a journalist writer at the Christian post and this is Brandon

Shawalter. Welcome to the show. Thank you so good to be with you. It's a pleasure. So I've

done a very brief intro there Brandon but please introduce yourself for those who do

not know. My name is Brandon Shawalter. I am an investigative journalist and podcaster at

the Christian post and have been so since the summer of 2016. I've covered the cover

number of things but it focused extensively on the developments of the global developments

with regard to gender ideology. It's been a big focus of mine but I do report on other things too

but that's been a tremendous focus of mine of late especially in this last year. I hear that man

before we get into your work tell me a little bit about yourself and your background how did you

even get into the world of journalism where are you from all that good stuff. Born and raised

in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and I swore I'd never live and work in the Washington DC

area but I guess God has a sense of humor and just had an opportunity I was looking to do something

different back in 2015-2016 was working three jobs to make ends meet. In fact I was a janitor

at a church in early 2015 and I was thinking about what I was going to do next and while I was

mopping floors and scrubbing toilets I just had this idea that I was going to write an essay

about what it was like being a church janitor so I submitted it to this blog site that I knew

and that turned into me having my own blog for a very short time but then those blogs served as

the writing samples for a career and reporting when that opportunity came my way and the rest
