0:19.0	So I was a Border Patrol agent. I was a border patrol agent i was the chief
0:22.9	patrol agent of yuma arizona my last two years of my career so i'll just kind of back it all up
0:28.2	i i i joined the u.s board patrol in 1995 and retired new year's eve 1231 22 so i've been
0:34.9	retired a little over a year um it was um you know, the Border Patrol, you know, really it's federal law enforcement.
0:43.0	Our job is to safeguard and protect our borders.
0:47.5	And really, it's between the ports of entry.
0:49.8	The ports of entry is where people come in lawfully, where, you know, coming from Mexico or Canada or
0:55.2	the airports, the seaports. But in between those ports, anything and anyone that crosses is
1:02.4	breaking the law. And it's our job as agents to secure that border. We're really tasked with
1:08.8	interdicting, apprehending anything and anyone that comes in.
1:13.7	And then we can either prosecute them for criminal violations or we can administratively
1:18.7	remove them through an immigration proceeding.
