What I had wanted in my prayer was eradication of the anxiety, and I found that I didn't

need God to take it away.

What I needed was for him to take the power of it away.

So I could live with whatever it was causing me to feel anxious or worried there, but it

couldn't be in the driver's seat.

It needed to move to the side and to say, okay, God, if this is going to be in my

life, what's more important to me is to see you in it.

What do you do if your own mind turns on you, fear, anxiety, and that critical voice in your

head?

It can be overwhelming, even if you know that Christ died to free you from those things.
